Captivating! | New Jersey Children’s Photographer

This little girl has a sweet spot in my heart.  I’ve photographed her 3 times already and her sparkling eyes just captivate me!

February 6, 2010 - 8:27 am Sue - I would LOVE to watch you in action! I'll bet you are more fun than a "barrel of monkeys!" :)

February 8, 2010 - 9:56 am Bob Towery - Wow - "captivating" hardly says it, and it is a strong word. These images are so lovely, capture her spirit so well. You have a gift! I'd be proud of any of these.

And Then There Were 3! | New Jersey Maternity & Family Photographer

This is part 1 of Christine’s maternity session.  I wanted to break the session up into 2 different posts to show Christine and her boys and baby to be and then a second post with just Christine.

Christine and I went to high school together and had been in touch on Facebook.  After she mentioned she was having her 3rd child (a girl!!) we discussed having doing this session when she visited NJ for the holidays.   Our original thoughts were to do it outdoors on the beach or in the middle of a large field but the weather didn’t agree with our imaginative ideas so we resorted to plan B.

Christine and her adorable little guys came to my place where I had my new backdrops set up for the session and one of my favorite chairs in my house to use during the session.

I’m so happy with the variety we got in just a short time!

January 31, 2010 - 7:52 am Julie - Love set 1! Great job, as always. Love the new backdrop and that chair.

January 31, 2010 - 8:53 pm meleah rebeccah - Awww! The hands on the belly photos are my favorite of this set!

February 1, 2010 - 6:28 pm Julie McLeod - These are so nice, Jen. I like the new backdrop too.

February 1, 2010 - 9:39 pm oneshotbeyond - These are so sweet! :-)

February 2, 2010 - 10:35 am ohana photographers - thank you for your sweet words on our bloggy :) beautiful family. love the little boy in the 3rd image trying to make the heart, that's just awesome.

TUBS as Art | New Jersey Pet Photographer

I felt like doing something different for a few minutes after my sister asked me if I knew how to make a photograph look like a painting.  I tested the technique out on 2 photos I just took of Zero (aka Tubs) who belongs to my friend Sarah.  I also was able to apply it to the photo of my sister’s new puppy and I like how it came out as well.

I love how they came out!  They look like paintings…especially with the added texture I applied.  I’m going to have to try this more often!  =)

I’m not a big fan of cats but I’m a big fan of “Tubs!!”

January 25, 2010 - 6:38 am Julie McLeod - He seems to have posed for you! I like the painting-like quality. He looks like a sweet kitty, not quite as aloof as some...

January 25, 2010 - 10:18 pm meleah rebeccah - I really like the editing effects on the second photo! Very nice work Jen!

January 27, 2010 - 5:22 pm Sue - So, is #2 going to appear on a canvas? :)

January 27, 2010 - 7:53 pm jo ann cox - looks like my DJ! love it!!!

The T Family – Picture PERFECT | New Jersey Newborn Portrait Photographer

When I walked into the home of the T Family I knew the shoot was going to be just amazing!  Mom, Dad and baby R were just beautiful and their home interior was just perfect for a family/newborn session!

The natural light streaming into their home was a photographers dream!  I was able to do almost the entire shoot with no studio lighting or flash!  Their decor was straight out of a magazine and I couldn’t have been happier with the various options we had for settings around the house with amazing light.  Mom and Dad were naturals in front of the camera and posed with ease.  Ahhhhhh this is when I really love what I do!

R was the sweetest, most handsome little guy to work with and I had such a great time posing him in creative ways. My fantastically handsome assistant, Chris, came with me and (as always) was a wonderful help to me…”hold this!”  “get that” “do this” …he did all with a smile!

January 19, 2010 - 6:25 am Julie - Ahhh Just beautiful!! Great location, great lighting, great looking family. I simply love every picture here. Fantastic job!!
