Greener Pastures

“…He makes me down to lie In pastures green: he leadeth me the quiet waters by. My soul he doth restore again: and me to walk doth make Within the paths of righteousness, ev’n for his own name’s sake….” -Scottish Metrical Psalms

This was taken on the roadside in Pollocksville, NC, close to where my father lived.  I was driving home one night and pulled over on the side of the road to capture it.  I left the telephone wires in intentionally, which may not be to everyone’s taste, but I really wanted to keep them in.   I can’t explain why exactly…but maybe it’s because I wanted to remember it how it really was:  Quiet Rural life with luxuries that we all seem to need in the times that we live in?

Julie McLeod - Love the tones in this and the wires make me stop and think about how hard it is to get away from civilization. Beautiful shot, Jen…

Andy - Wires are fine here. You have a photograph that’s about “place” and the wires provide context.

Enigma3 - Jen,

I was looking at the photographs you did for your mom over the holliday and have to say that I was amazed, not only with the quality of the shots but also with the creativity in displaying them. Really nice job!
