New Toy! | New Jersey Family, Engagement, Wedding, Children, and Newborn Portrait Photographer

New toys are so fun!!  I’ve been waiting months and months before finally giving in and making this purchase for myself.

My new toy is a Sigma 24-70 F2.8 and I purchased it from Abes of Maine for a great deal including $79 off the price and free shipping.  I had never ordered from them before and I was a little hesitant at first but my friend Julie ordered hers from them and it was a smooth & fast process.  I finally decided to go for it last week.  They make you call to “confirm” you order and try to get you to buy filters, etc but when we politely declined they didn’t push.

I did some test shots, last night, of my two favorite guys in very low light and no flash.

Chris @ F4 – ISO 2000.

Eyes look super sharp!  Just what I look for in a portrait!

Lucas @ f2.8 ISO 3200

He’s a little fuzzy around the edges but I can’t get the little guy to hold still very long. =)

oneshotbeyond - You must be ridiculously happy with your new purchase! :-) I’ve shot with the Nikon version of that lens and it’s wonderful. You will have lots of good times with it I’m sure!

Roe Balas - Jen, I never realized how very talented a photographer you are!
Excellent work. I see you have great equipment but, they don’t
give you your natural ability. You have a great eye. A special
perception. You go girl!! Beautiful work. Love Roe
