You’re In The Army Now! | New Jersey Portrait Photographer

Chris and I attended his brother Aaron’s Boot Camp Graduation festivities this past Thursday and Friday at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina.  We had a great time and enjoyed time with family.

We attended Fort Jackson’s “Family Day” on Thursday and “Graduation Day” on Friday.

Family Day started with a “battle drill.”

An Infantry battle drill describes how platoons and squads apply fire and maneuver to commonly encountered situations. They require leaders to make decisions rapidly and to issue brief oral orders quickly.

Then the new soldiers emerged from the woods through clouds of various colored smoke and got into formation:

After speeches and awards we were able to join our soldier on the field which was a special moment for Chris’ family (after being away from Aaron for 10 weeks).

The Soldier’s Creed was recited by all of the new soldiers.
