Love on the 50 Yard Line | Quantico/Stafford Virginia Engagement Photographer

This one certainly goes down in the history books for sure!

Renee found me online from the comforts of her home in Chicago and asked if I’d be willing to do her engagement photos when she and Matt visited New Jersey in the summer.  She explained that her and Matt both went to Rutgers University together and that’s where they met.  I LOVE engagements so  I was so excited that they found me and were interested in hiring me for the session!!

We decided to meet at the Rutgers football stadium.  When we got there we weren’t sure what we’d do for the photos since it was closed but shortly after we walked up to the main gates out luck changed!  A maintenance worker pulled up and got out and seeing my big opportunity I approached him and asked him if there was any way we could run in and take one or two photos for 2 minutes.  We were much luckier than that!  He said he had to work on the flag pole at the top of the stadium roof so we could stay as long as he was working.

We ran right down to the field in complete awe of our amazing luck.  I was so freaked out that I didn’t even know where to start!  I started directing Renee and Matt into various poses and snapped happily away!  The 3 of us were smiling ear to ear the whole time.  We never felt the burning heat of the morning sun – we were just so excited to be there!

Just when we thought things couldn’t get any better…I looked up at the scoreboard and some wonderful person behind the scenes at the stadium decided to turn it on and flash huge hearts with the Rutgers “R”!!  I was freaking out with excitement over how perfect the day was going for us.

In the short time we had on the field we had so much fun finding places to take photos…lots of laughing and giggling…super giddiness all around!  When our time was up we walked out smiling our heads off and I learned that poor Renee got stung by a bee in our last pose and never said a word of complaint!  What a trooper!!!  I guess it was all worth it for the experience we had!  =)
