Jo Ann & Josh Engagement | New Jersey Engagement Portrait Photographer

I’m really excited to share the final results from an engagement session that I had the pleasure and lots of fun taking for one of my oldest bestest friends!

Friends of the blog will recognize Jo Ann since she has been a model for me a number of times and also was my assistant for a majority of my photo jobs last year.  When Jo Ann and Josh got engaged I offered to do an engagement session for them as my gift to them.

We decided on a session in New Bern, North Carolina on a very HOT Saturday.  We had an amazing day walking around the town where a number of my family members retired to within the last couple of years.  The town had so many charming spots for photos.  I was in heaven with the backdrops I had to choose from!

I know I always have a hard time narrowing down what I want to share on the blog but this session was extra hard to choose from.  I loved so many of the photos that you’re going to be scrolling away!

If it looks like I laid in the road to take this photo below….that’s because I did!  lol

This photo was chose for their engagement announcement in their hometown newspapers.

We ran into a trolley!  Of course I asked the driver if we could use it as a backdrop!

I waved to all the on-lookers with one hand while I took this with the other.  We were the talk the of the town that day!

We stopped for an ice cream to cool off on one of the hottest days I’ve experienced in North Carolina!

Who says adults can’t have fun in a children’s playground?  We had a blast!

I think Josh has the MOST fun of all!

And yes..I’m the nutcase who laid under the swingset to get this. =)

And Jo Ann had a little fun herself!  lol

Luck rolls our way again!  A row of gorgeous motorcycles were lined up, down the street.  I couldn’t resist this shot!

Swiss Baron Christoph De Graffenried, is credited with settling the New Bern site in 1710.  De Graffenried named the city of New Bern after his home town of Bern, Switzerland. The red and gold city flag of Bern, Switzerland, was later presented to New Bern by officials from Bern, Switzerland, in 1896. Featuring a black bear with its distinctive long, curling tongue, it is the official flag for New Bern. In modern days, the black bear has become the unofficial New Bern icon, and is used in company names, garden statues, even the New Bern Bears mascot for New Bern High School.

Shortly after we had this photo shoot Jo Ann & Josh decided they are going to get married in the town of New Bern.  I have a feeling that their wedding photos are going to be twice as nice in a town like this!

I love TALL (wide angle) photos like this! Scroll, scroll, scroll!

This one was their sneak peek featured shot!  Love it!

One of my TOP favorites from the session.  I had a lot of fun with the sculptures here!!

I had to photograph Jo Ann & Josh in front of THIS WALL while she wore THIS DRESS!  Perfection!

Couldn’t get a more beautiful day!

If you didn’t  feast your eyes on enough of the photos above, check out the slideshow below to see ALL of the photos from their session!

Nancy Felix - Jen, the pictures are so beautiful,. You have actually captured the moments. I’ve been to New Bern, and I agree with you that it would be a perfect place for a wedding, but only if you take the pictures. You have an amazing talent.
